Business Link Bid

20/6/09

Earlier this year The South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) invited bidders to apply to supply Business Link services in the south east of England for 2010-2013. Currently each there 7 different suppliers. The bid is very complicated for mere designers to fully understand and appreciate, but it can be broken down in to 3 simplified stages:

1. PPQ document, this is completed and submitted to SEEDA to accertain that the potential bidder is able meet the main bid criteria for the delivery of services.

2. Bid document, comprised of two parts, in essence, how and where the service will be delivered and the cost of that delivery. The document must be compliant to SEEDA bid requirements.

3. Visual Presentation and Q&A session. Present case to SEEDA panel which included PowerPoint presentation with embedded video and answer questions.

Squiggle worked with Business Link Surrey in the preparation of their bid, Squiggle supplied a full range of design services across the 3 parts of the bid. It was one of the biggest jobs Squiggle has ever undertaken, the main bid had in excess of 600 page. Wendy Saunders, senior designer at Squiggle even took up residence at Business Link's Working office making corrections and changes but also coordinating Squiggle HQ via the internet so the team could work on other parts of this massive project.
Squiggle became so integrated with bid team at Business Link Surrey that we where viewed as part of the team, this was a great compliment.
SEEDA are due to release the name of the successful bidder in the latter part of July. Squiggle wishes Business Link Surrey all the best.
